Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of IVA Claim (ivaclaim.com.mx), a service that helps diplomatic missions and their staff in México prepare IVA reimbursement claims. By using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. What the service does
IVA Claim reads the facturas (CFDI) and supporting documents you upload, extracts invoice data using artificial intelligence, checks each invoice against SAT's public CFDI verification service, and generates Excel claim forms and merged PDFs for you to review and submit. Features marked "beta", such as USD invoice support, are still being refined and may change.
2. We're independent — and not your tax advisor
IVA Claim is an independent, privately operated service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT), the Government of Mexico, or any embassy or diplomatic mission. We don't provide tax, legal or accounting advice. Eligibility for reimbursement, reciprocity and the approval of any claim are decided by SAT under the applicable agreements, not by us.
3. Your responsibilities
- You must be authorized to handle and submit the documents you upload.
- Review every generated file before submitting it. You remain responsible for the accuracy and submission of your claim.
- Don't misuse the service — for example, by uploading documents you aren't entitled to process, attempting to disrupt or overload it, scraping it, or reselling access.
4. Price and payment
- A session costs $9.99 CAD (Canadian dollars) unless a different price is shown at checkout. One session covers up to three claim types (general expenses, gasoline and car purchases) and up to 60 facturas in total.
- You pay at the download step, after reviewing your results. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card details. Your bank may charge currency-conversion fees.
- After payment, your download is available for 30 minutes. Please download your files right away — we don't keep copies.
- Promo codes, discounts and free-session offers have no cash value, apply only under their stated conditions, and may be changed or withdrawn at any time.
5. Refunds
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6. Your data
- Uploaded documents are processed in memory to generate your report and are not stored after your session ends.
- To extract invoice data, document contents are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI (see Anthropic's privacy policy). Invoice identifiers are checked with SAT's public verification service, and for USD invoices the payment date is used to look up Banco de México's official exchange rate.
- For 30 days we keep a brief operational record of each session: the name on the diplomatic ID, file names, invoice counts, IVA and invoice totals, and any promo code used. We use it to resolve disputes and handle refund requests. It never includes document contents or your IP address, which is used only momentarily to prevent abuse.
- If we run a first-session-free offer, we keep the beneficiary name and mission RFC for as long as needed to prevent repeat use of that offer.
7. Ticket Scanner
The optional Ticket Scanner runs in your browser using your own Anthropic API key. Receipt images are sent directly from your device to Anthropic — we never receive them or your key. Anthropic bills you for that usage under its own terms. Your key is saved in your browser, so don't enter it on a shared device. Always check vendor portal links and contact details the scanner suggests before sharing information.
8. Accuracy and availability
AI extraction is accurate but not perfect, and SAT's verification service can be slow or unavailable. The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee that SAT will approve any claim, that any particular amount will be reimbursed, or that the service will be uninterrupted.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, IVA Claim's total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the session concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including IVA that is not reimbursed, delays or penalties. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived.
10. Changes
We may update the service and these Terms. The version in effect when you pay applies to that session, and the "last updated" date above shows when these Terms last changed.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes will be heard by the courts of that province, unless consumer-protection law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
